Welcome Echo

Not down with the big New Years introspection/retrospection/whatever deal. I suppose it's good that people are motivated to take a look at what's going on in their lives every now and again, probably on balance a healthy thing. Just so long as you don't set a bunch of unachievable goals and wind up with a bag full of problems as a result.

The only real thought I had about things I want to do more of in 2010 is to be myself more. Especially at work, there are a lot of times when I suppress my natural self in order to be something for someone or whatever. In the long run, that's not the way things are going to work out best. I have a personality that's pretty out in left field compared to a lot of people who do what I do, but in order to be the best I can be at what I do, I have to be myself.

Mountain Khakis, who sponsor the Cat 3 Cup (Who Wears The Pants??), had a thing to get to 2010 Facebook friends by 2010 so I signed up. Not really into Facebook in general (it seems to be mostly good at telling me how much time people I haven't seen since high school are wasting playing Mafia Wars), but they're helping us with something so what could it hurt?

So anyway, a day or two after I have this thought, I read this thing that Mountain Khakis posted about the best thing you can do for yourself in the new year is to be yourself. It was neat to see someone thinking the same thing. Probably a pretty healthy thought for most people.

The picture's a total non-sequitor, I just took it the other day and want to keep the visual content up. It's a bird's nest that's in a tree near our patio. Hopefully take some interesting new shots this weekend.

Theres a pocket for my pruning shears on the thigh and the stitching is tuff. Nice bird nest shot. Interesting and sorta disturbing definition of torque ...an example of being yourself ..funny though and Happy New you or year.
